Acceptable Formats
After you have contracted me as your designer, I will usually ask you for content, that is, if we are not starting from scratch. These will be text files and/or existing graphics, logos, etc. You can send your files by email or ftp. You can also mail or fed-ex a CD-ROM or USB jump drive. We can work out the details on the best method for you to send them, but here are a few standards when you do:
Technical Guidelines For Photos
Raster Images
- Acceptable formats are: TIFF or PSD (Adobe Photoshop CS)
- JPEGs are accepted, but not preferable.
- Minimum of 1600 x 1200 pixels for web use
- 2272 x 1704 pixels or greater for print use
- Files with at least 2000 x 3000 pixels are preferable
- Do not interpolate or upsize your images!
- If photo is a JPEG file use minimal compression
- Little to no sharpening
- Images with Adobe 1998 color profiles are preferable
Technical Guidelines for Logos
Vector Images
- Acceptable formats are: EPS or AI (Adobe Illustrator CS)
Technical Copy Guidelines
Copy or Text Files
- Acceptable formats are: Word Perfect or Microsoft Word
